Edit Post
Turns out there are still a bunch of robot shows we haven't talked about on this show. That's fine. We are are here to fix that. I, Doctor, am joined by Mecha anime enthusiasts Fred, aka Fredrex00, and Eric, aka Guy With Too Many Nicknames, to suggest to you a grab-bag of shows that you should check out if you want to understand why the genre is...well...just plain cool.

(0:00 - 16:00) Intro
How is the weather where you live?
(16:01 - 35:39) Review (Mazinkaiser)
Mazinger Z is an important figure in not only mecha anime but anime in general. It really helped start the genre all the way in the 70s. It is common to think that a giant robot is piloted from inside the actual robot. This thing started that. It is a legacy that I am clearly not smart enough to go in detail on these notes. Trust me, you are better off just watch Mazinkaizer to get the CliffNotes version.
(35:40 - 52:04) Review (Aim for the Top! Gunbuster)
If you happen to be a terrible human being and don't feel like checking out the original Gunbuster because it's too old, you could still check out the newer sequel and still enjoy it for what it's worth. If you are, you are dead to me and here is the opening to it.
Trust me, it is worth watching the original before taking on Diebuster.
(52:04 - 1:10:13) Review (Macross: Do You Remember Love?)
I was not kidding when I said I didn't decide what I was going to talk about until five minutes before recording. I didn't delve too deep into what the actual plot is in this movie because really the franchise has been around for a while. Yeah, I know this is meant more for people who never checked any kind of mecha show before but I felt like this can be an exception. Just trust me on this, go look it up and watch it. I don't care how. YouTube. Secret Netflix. Whatever. It is worth your time.
(1:10:14 - 1:31:39) Discussion (Rapid Fire Suggestions)
We didn't go into that much detail into these ones. These are not that big on the priority but worth checking out.
(1:31:40 - 1:35:27) Closing
Trust me.
